Interviewer: I was coming over here in a taxi, and the cab driver said to me “So Ian McKellen, he’s the one that, when he stays in hotels, rips the part of the Bible out that criticizes homosexuality.”
Ian: Yes, it is true.  ”Thou shalt not lie with a man as with a woman, tis an abomination” and I think the punishment for being abominable was being stoned to death.  I don’t think those are very comfortable words to have at the bedside of someone who may be passing a lonely night away from loved ones.  And I think it’s rather obscene, and pornographic, and shouldn’t be there.  So I remove it.

This is amazing. I love him so much more now.
